Is December a good time to deal with your career and finances?

I would say so.
But why do I think this?
Well, let me explain my reasoning.
Changes occur in many businesses and companies in preparation for the new year.
There can be funds that need to be used before the end of the year or available at the beginning of next year that need to get figured out, positions that get switched around and adjusted so that the employee(s) start the new year aware of what their new tasks will be, employees, relocate to new positions, or quit the job.
Or you may be interested in a different position. If that's the case, then the time off during the holiday season may allow you to volunteer with a company’s cause you are interested in learning more about or working for.
Also, people tend to reach out to extended family and friends they don’t always connect with, which provides an opportunity to network or discover other opportunities.
Ensure you have an updated targeted resume for these reasons and many others.
Many may think a resume only comes into play when you are on the job hunt. Still, suppose you are looking for a promotion or additional duties and responsibilities within your business or company or outside of it. In that case, that is another reason for an updated targeted resume.
For me, my goal is to empower mid-level professional women looking to make a BOLD career move but hesitant due to financial challenges with a career and money exit plan, enabling them to strive towards being months ahead financially!
So, again, December is an excellent opportunity to make BOLD moves in terms of your career and/or your money.
Now, if you are hired and start in December, there is the possibility that it will give you more time and opportunity to get acquainted with your new position. The office may be quieter and less busy because employees are extending their holiday time.
It doesn’t always work out this way. Still, in case you need to start the year off running and dive right into the needy gritty of what you will be doing, starting in December provides you the opportunity to get your feet wet and start formulating an idea of how you will dive into your new tasks and responsibilities come January.
In dealing with and diving into your finances in December, the plus side is that you are closer to finding your total numbers for your budget categories and determining if this was a usual or unusual year. Based on that, you can begin formulating how your next year will look coming January 1st. You can dive in financially with the game plan figured out, which allows you to be off to a starting point, even if it is not figured out entirely.
